I want to read about FSD and related info. What are some good books?
Here are some good books that many of us have found useful. Since I like Powells bookstore in Portland Oregon, I've included links to the books listed here that they generally carry. You can also find these at Borders, Amazon or Barnes & Noble,
These first two books are probably the best in terms of learning about hormonal and physical problems. Both are good.
- I'm Not in the Mood: What Every Woman Should Know about Improving Her Libido, by Judith Reichman - Score, 9/10
- For Women Only: A Revolutionary Guide to Overcoming Sexual Dysfunction and Reclaiming Your Sex Life, by Jennifer Berman - Score 8/10
- Hot Monogamy: Essential Steps to More Passionate, Intimate Lovemaking, by Patricia Love - Score 7/10
- Resurrecting Sex: Resolving Sexual Problems and Rejuvenating Your Relationship by David Schnarch (One really doesn't need both of David Schnarch's books, but both are good and somewhat different. Resurrecting Sex discusses medical causes for sexual dysfunction, where Passionate Marriage only reviews the psychological, though it's an excellent book.)
- Passionate Marriage: Love, Sex, and Intimacy in Emotionally Committed Relationships, by David Schnarch - Score 8/10
- Natural Hormone Balance for Women: Look Younger, Feel Stronger, and Live Life with Exuberance by Uzzi Reiss - Score N/A
- The Hormone of Desire :the truth about sexuality, menopause, and testosterone by Susan Rako - Score N/A (Older book, Copyright 1996)
- The Big O: Orgasms: How to Have Them, Give Them, and Keep Them Coming by Lou Paget - Score N/A
- Getting the Sex You Want, a Woman's Guide to Becoming Proud, Passionate, and Pleased in Bed by Sandra Leiblum, Ph.D. and Judith Sachs.
- Becoming Orgasmic by Julia Heiman Score 8/10 (One reader says: "A practical and sensitive step-by-step guide. This one is right up there with I'm Not in The Mood. My wife considers this one of her most helpful books.")
- Sex for Christians by Lewis Smedes (Mixed reviews - you'll probably either love it or hate it...)
- The Art of Sexual Ecstasy, by Margo Anand (Another of those love it or hate it books. Personally, I thought it was wacky!)
- Just Between Us Girls: Secrets about Men from the Mayflower Madam by Sydney Biddle Barrows - Score N/A (One reader said, interesting perspective!)
- What Women Want Men to Know: The Ultimate Book about Love, Sex, and Relationships for You - And the Man You Love by Barbara Deangelis - Score N/A (Excellent! - said one reader...)
- Mars and Venus in the Bedroom: A Guide to Lasting Romance and Passion by John Gray - Score 4/10 (I found this book off the mark, especially for those with physical or hormonal problems.)
- The Hite Report by Shere Hite (Early groundbreaking research - no link)
- Human Sexual Response by Masters (The original!)
- Sexual Behavior in the Human Female by Alfred Kinsey (Another original)
If you have additional books you would like included, just email us the name and if possible a short review - send email to: info@fsdinfo.org
